Imperial Patisserie was founded in Hong Kong in 2018, adhering to the concept of inheriting traditional pastries while boldly innovating and evolving. Combining craftsmanship with modern technology, with a focus on producing high-quality pastries in its own factory in Hong Kong. Our Michelin-starred Master Chef Team, including Master Chef Yip Wing Wah, the founder of The Peninsula Hotel’s custard mooncakes, and Master Chef Lai Wing Koon, a Michelin 2-starred chef and the only inheritor of Chef Yip Wing Wah. They meticulously handpicked quality ingredients, to bringing out the natural tastes and create a wide range of products including Mooncake series, Palmiers series, and the Hong Kong Story souvenir series representing Hong Kong’s unique characteristics, establishing a Hong Kong souvenir brand that locals can be proud of.

Ming Artisan has strategically expanded its presence across key markets, including Shanghai, Macau, and Singapore. Currently, Ming Artisan has opened 8 self-operated shops nationwide, located in the major cities of Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Ningbo. Among them, Shanghai has 4 shops, Shenzhen has 2, Guangzhou and Ningbo has 1 respectively. With a strategic vision for global expansion, Ming Artisan is poised to bring its unique offerings to international markets, advancing its mission of “Gifted to the World”.

INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

Our pastries are 100% made in Hong Kong. Our Factory has obtained the ISO 22000:2018, HACCP and GMP certifications. Also, we have obtained the Halal certification, which verifies that our products meet the Halal standard and do not contain pork, lard, or any of their processed ingredients. We have undergone strict approval and supervision by relevant certification agencies to ensure that our food ingredients, production processes, packaging, and storage meet the required specifications, food quality and hygiene standards.

In 2019, Imperial Patisserie’s Lava Mooncake was awarded the Grand Gold in Monde Selection. This was a historic achievement as it was the first time a mooncake had ever won this honor and we are also honored to receive this recognition for a seventh consecutive year. We have achieved the highest level of “Grand Gold Award” in 2025 Monde Selection for both mooncakes and pastry series, including lava mooncakes, traditional mooncakes, eggroll, palmiers and crispy cookies. This is the first time in the 62-year history record of the Monde Selection that one single Hong Kong pastry brand can have this recognition.

Imperial Patisserie has committed to using only the freshest ingredients to providing high-quality products. We have received the highest honor of 3 Stars and named a “Best 100” winner at  “A.A. Taste Awards” in 2024, which commend those who use less or even exclude artificial food additives and dedicate to providing products and dishes with great flavour.

Our retail shops are accredited by the QTS Scheme and provide excellent services and a great shopping experience to customers.

FACTORY

We own a professional production line at Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong and occupy more than 90,000 square feet. All pastry collection is 100% made in Hong Kong and our assurance of quality has sealed our achievement of ISO 22000:2018, HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good manufacturing practice) certifications.

THE FOUNDER OF EGG CUSTARD MOONCAKE

MASTER CHEF – YIP WING WAH

We have collaborated with Master Chef Yip Wing Wah who has been in the business for over 50 years. He served as the head chef of The Peninsula Hong Kong’s restaurant Spring Moon Dim Sum Department for over 30 years, and with over 50 years of experience in the culinary field. He is the founder of Egg Custard Mooncake, as known as “the father of the Egg Custard Mooncake”, aiming to innovate our pastry collection with prevision and delicacy.

MICHELIN TWO-STAR CAKE AND PASTRY’S MASTER

MASTER CHEF – LAI WING KOON

Master Lai served as the head chef of the Shanghai Peninsula Hotel Dim Sum Department for more than 10 years. He served as the head chef at star-rated hotels around the world. During his tenure in The Peninsula Bangkok, he created the popular Durian Mooncakes, which brought up a mooncake fever in Bangkok. He continues to pursue creative refinement of pastries.
